Monterey Bay Aquarium Releases Turning the Tide: The State of Seafood Report

Our oceans are increasingly affected by human activities, primarily by our growing desire for seafood. How we catch and farm seafood today is imperiling fish and other populations of ocean wildlife, from turtles to seabirds. Yet it seems the tide may be turning, and there are many signs of hope for the future. Fishermen and consumers, businesses and governments are recognizing these threats and are charting a new course, and cooperating in new ways.

To mark our 25th anniversary, we issue Turning the Tide: The State of Seafood, a report that uncovers the threats to our oceans, as well as stories of hope and change about the significant steps being taken to preserve what remains—and restore what we've lost.
